Approach

There are times in life when we feel stuck, overwhelmed or alone. Life can be stressful and confusing. Relationships are complicated and difficult. No one goes through life unscathed. We all experience disappointment, pain, and heartache. Too often people suffer and struggle on their own. It is my desire to revive people’s hope and for them to experience more in life than just survival. Difficult times can be periods of growth and self-discovery that make you stronger.

I believe my role as a therapist is to walk alongside you for part of your journey, holding your pain with you and working together to expand your perspective, and discover new strategies. I am compassionate and understanding and believe that people need a safe place without shame and judgement to allow for healing and understanding so they can begin to move forward. As we develop a therapeutic relationship, my hope is that you would find a place to be heard, understood, validated and empowered to be the person you desire to be.

I use an integrative style of therapy. I have been trained in Family System’s Theory, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy and Attachment Theory. Along with these therapies, I have a strong faith and will integrate a Christian worldview for those who prefer this approach. I believe in the value of evidence-based research and am continually learning to increase my knowledge and improve my skills.
